Former Big Brother Naija winner, Josephine Otabor, popularly known Phyna, has said 2025 has been a trying year for her, lamenting over her infamous fight at an Abuja hotel weeks after burying her younger sister.

Phyna shared an update of the case of Sunday, alleging that she was being detained at the Gwarinpa police station for refusing to pay a damage of N3.5 million imposed on her by the management of the hotel from the fight on their premises.
The reality star accused the hotel of abetting touts who came to fight her, by granting them access to the facility and allegedly directing them to her hotel room.
She lamented that she demanded for the release of the CCTV footage but the hotel management declined.
Expressing frustration over the situation, Phyna said she wished 2025 had taken her instead of her late sister Ruth.
“Dalchifit hotel in Gwarinpa allowed touts to come in the hotel to fight me and now they are about to lock me up till Monday cuz I refused to pay a damage of 3.5m. Pls, I’m in prison right now,” she wrote via her Instagram story.
“Bcuz I’m Phyna I’m bring fooled by a hotel that could not secure me in their premises. A hotel that allowed touts through their main gate, through reception up till 2nd floor to bang, break down the door. Same hotel that told the touts my room number. I’ve never seen this type of thing. Omo, this 2025 for just take me leave my sister,” she lamented.
The hotel management is yet to react to the allegations.
