The Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation has handed over the newly completed Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) facility at Mgbarakuma Ubakala to the Abia State government.

At the handover, Onimode Haruna, a committee representative, urged users to take ownership by maintaining and protecting the facility from vandalism. He praised the state government for its partnership in bringing the project to completion.

Sunny Jackson, Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, lauded the federal government for initiating the project and assured that the facility would be properly utilized. He also commended Governor Alex Otti for providing the support and enabling environment necessary for its execution.

Project consultant Basil Okoli and resident supervisor Donatus Kamalu emphasized the need for immediate occupation of the facility to prevent trespass and vandalism, expressing satisfaction with its timely completion.
