Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has confirmed her split from her husband David Oyekanmi barely a year after marriage.
The reality star disclosed in a now-deleted Instagram comment that she is back to being single in response to a fan’s query.
A fan had hailed her as Mrs Deji in Yoruba, but Mercy politely told the fan that she prefers to be addressed as “Queen Mercy” going forward.
Worried by her reply, another fan wrote, “Queen, hope you are still married because Asa you are too beautiful to be single”.
Mercy replied, “Single and unavailable.”
Her confirmation comes after months of speculation about a split, which began in August when the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Mercy also deleted their wedding photos and videos from her social media pages.
She initially denied their separation, claiming she deleted their wedding photos and unfollowed her husband to save their marriage by keeping it off social media.
Recall that the single mother of one got David Oyekanmi had a whirlwind romance in 2024. They got engaged in February and held their traditional, court, and white wedding ceremonies all within the same year.
