Afrobeats singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has paid tribute to his late father, Justice Ikubor, and his late brother, Chuka Ikubor.
The music star dedicated the video of his hit song ‘Fun’ to his late father and brother.
“In loving memory of Justice Ikubor, Chuka Ikubor. Rest in peace. Forever in our hearts,” a frame in the music video reads.
This isn’t the first time the singer would be honouring the deceased family members. He previously unveiled a jewelry piece with the pedals of his later father and brother.
In 2020, Rema publicly questioned the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the death of his father, Justice Ikubor, a chieftain of the party, who was repeatedly found dead in a room at Bins Hotel in Benin City in 2008.
In a 2024 interview, the ‘Calm Down’ hitmaker shared how the early loss of his father and brother shaped his life and career.
He revealed that losing his father when he was a child forced him to “sell” his childhood to support his family.
