Terror in Benue: Gwer West Council Chairman Raises Alarm as Fulani Terrorists Wreak Havoc.(Video)

The Chairman of Gwer West Local Government Area, Hon. Ormin Torsar Victor, has issued a distress call to the nation and international community following renewed deadly attacks by Fulani terrorists in various parts of the LGA.

In a statement made on his Facebook page , the Chairman narrated a horrifying encounter that occurred on Sunday evening:

“Yesterday evening, Fulani terrorists shot Rev. Fada Atongu just ahead of me on the Makurdi–Naka road. They attacked Tse Orbiam, a community less than 3KM from Naka where the Army checkpoint is. As we speak, the casualty level is yet to be ascertained. One dead body has been recovered.”

Tragically, the violence has not ceased. In a fresh wave of attacks on Monday morning, Ahume village, close to Jimba, is reportedly under siege. Panic has gripped residents as gunshots continue to ring out, forcing families to flee their homes in fear.

The Chairman expressed deep frustration over the continued insecurity in the region, especially given the proximity of some attacks to military installations. He called on security agencies, the Benue State Government, the Federal Government, and the international community to take urgent action to prevent further bloodshed and displacement.

“Kindly let the whole world know what is happening in Gwer West LGA and Benue State at large,” Hon. Ormin pleaded.

These incidents are the latest in a series of violent attacks that have plagued Benue communities, threatening lives, livelihoods, and peace across the state.

Fabmimiblog will continue to monitor this developing situation and bring verified updates as more details unfold.

Our thoughts are with the affected families. The call for justice and security must not go unanswered.
